Though bed frames are 98.2% of what I make, I can do other things too. One example of this is a pine bench with walnut accents I made for one of my bed frame customers. He gave me the wood, which used to be part of a built-in bed frame that was full of screw holes with white paint on it:
I cut the wood down the middle, flattened it, glued it back together, and attached the legs and horizontal support with thick dowels. I covered the dowels and the screw holes in the support with walnut plugs. Walnut strips on the bottoms of the legs keep the bench stable. I hand-applied the clear shellac finish.
